The goals of the Society include collection, preservation, and sharing of local history and genealogy. These goals are attained by providing major financial and volunteer support for the History Room, partnering with Bath-area schools, offering research services, and sponsoring publications such as The Sesquicentennial of Bath, Maine, 1847-1997. Benefits of membership include a newsletter, the “Times of Bath” research publication, and the Society’s many historical programs.
